A Pilot’s Log Book

Introduction

Posted by Sol

My name is Sol Marrington I live and work in Perth (Western Australia). I am a working director of several companies involved with electronic automation systems and audio hardware developing and manufacturing.

Flying has always fascinated me and piloting an aircraft has always been a dream of mine from a very young age. Ultimately flying is not the cheapest of hobbies so in order to fund my flying time I had to do more then “get a job”. For a PPL license one can expect to pay anywhere from $12,000 to $18,000 and then whatever endorsements or ratings above and beyond that equals $$$. So for this and other reasons I went into business.

I started seriously undertaking flying training late 2007 and though I had thought about putting this log together I chose to do at least 20 hours of training just to make sure I actually enjoyed it first and foremost.

So while the intention for this site is simply a personal account of my flying experiences both as a student pilot and beyond, I would like to think that this site can be of assistance to others new to General Aviation.
